Please correct me, but...

...a pub should not give you bronchitis.

Should it?

I stopped being ill last week. I've had no cough. At all.

I spent this lunchtime in the pub (no cough) because of a leaving do. I spent from 4pm until 9pm in a pub (no cough) because of a leaving do.

I spent 3 minutes in a bar down the road from the above-mentioned-pub before I start coughing.

Not just a cough, a hacking cough.

*cough* *cough* *Cough* *cough* *cough* *Cough* *COUGH* *Cough* *COUGH* *HACK* *HACK* *HACK* *HACK* *HACK* *HACK* *COUGH* *Cough* *Cough* *HACK* *HACK* *HACK* *HACK* *HACK* *HACK* *HACK* *HACK* *COUGH* *Cough*

Me: "What the fuck is going on?"

Other people: "Die heretic sinner!"

After 45 minutes of almost non-stop coughing I left to go home. Within a hundred yards I'd stopped coughing.

How can one pub give someone bronchitis? Answers on a comment, please...

I think something was irritating your lungs in there that you were allergic too. Allergies cause coughing too. A chemical they clean with? Someones cologne or perfume? A certain type of cigar or cigarette smoke clinging to their clothes?

This is my medical opinion, but remember...I'm NOT a doctor...I just play one on TV.

:)
Glad you're better!

Sounds like you could be allergic to something in that pub.

I cough and sneeze in the office, but that could be me allergic to the work... ;-)

The one that does for me is air freshener.

The pub has swine flu and has passed it on to you. Please wear a mask when posting in future!

Sweet Cheeks - I think I might have been allergic to the young people that technically could have been my kids!

weenie - I'm allergic to work too. A special allergy that makes me fall asleep...

Kevin - any particular type? Or is it just Pine?

Belle - it was the shortest swine flu ever. I'm not sure it even counted as Man Swine Flu.

Whatever chemical caused it, you need to find it and bring it in to work, and hey presto, instant sick days whilst pleading,

"But I'm fine... really, cough cough...please don't send me home.....hack, cough..."

Was it a Goth pub? I've seen a lot of coffin in Goth pubs before.

I do know a pub where you can catch Gangi fever if you want the address...you know if you ever want to mix it up a bit!

There's a jasmine and vanilla air freshener that's advertised by an elephant on the telly (like you do...) that gives me both a coughing fit and a banging headache. The bastards make me stay at the office, though.

ozzie hobbit - I'm practically public sector, I can can take sick days any time I want anyway... :-P

token - heh. It was remarkably close to that Goth club we went to once, though with less 'Flock OF Seagulls' hair...

Mia - next time I need a good illness I'll drop you a line :)

Kevin - made you stay in the office? Now that's just cruel...
